II International Workshop on the Origin, Distribution and Fate of Marine Litter in the Atlantic

December 12 · 2024
Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain

The II International Workshop on the Origin, Distribution and Fate of Marine Litter in the Atlantic will be held in Tenerife on the 12nd of December 2024.

Tenerife is one of the main islands in the Canary Archipelago (Spain), located just 100 km off the coast of continental Africa. In the center of the island stands the impressive cone of El Teide (3718 m), the highest point in Spain.

Its volcanic origin and tropical location provide Tenerife with a unique variety of landscapes and a warm climate year-round.

The workshop will take place at the Canary Islands Oceanographic Centre (Centro Oceanográfico de Canarias) in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, housed within the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO-CSIC).

This renowned institution plays a key role in marine research in the Atlantic, making it an ideal venue for discussing the origin, distribution, and fate of marine litter in this region.

Santa Cruz, the island’s capital, offers excellent transport connections and a vibrant city life, adding to the appeal of this remarkable location.
